The Greater
Louisville GRC offers two types of membership - Regular
(Individual), in which the member enjoys all club privileges
including the right to vote and hold office, and Household,
in which two adult members residing in the same household
are each eligible to vote and hold office.
A
Junior membership shall also be
offered, open to children under 18 years of age; this is a
non-voting/non-office holding membership which may automatically
convert to regular membership at age 18.
While membership is
unrestricted as to residence, the Club's primary purpose is to be
representative of the breeders and exhibitors in its immediate
area.
Each applicant for
membership must agree to abide by the constitution and bylaws of
the club, and with the rules of The American Kennel Club.
Applicants must submit a completed application form and are
required to be sponsored by two current club members in good
standing. Accompanying the application, the prospective member
shall submit dues payment for the current year. Each
application is to be read at the first meeting of the club
following its receipt. At the next club meeting the application
will be voted upon and affirmative votes of 2/3 of the members
present.
Persons interested
in becoming members are encouraged to attend meetings and events
as a guest, so they may meet current members with the intent of
obtaining sponsorship for their membership application.
Applications may be obtained from the club secretary (see link
for Officers).
